Plant Assistant Quality Manager

The Assistant Quality Manager is responsible for assisting the Quality Manager in improving all internal and external plant assurance of quality systems.

The Assistant Quality Manager will:

• Work directly with all departments on quality issues and preventive and corrective actions
• Facilitate problem-solving activity through TQM, team building and quality systems tools and methods
• Work with supervisors in identifying negative quality trends and repetitive defects
• Participate as a customer liaison, make customer visits as appropriate, and assist in implementing customer quality management systems

The Assistant Quality Manager should have:

• The ability to investigate customer complaints, preparing customer complaint responses and maintaining a data base on all customer complaints.
• Experience working with a plant management team to develop standard operating procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and making decisions that protect quality

• HS Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor degree is preferred
• At least 2 years of quality experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Food safety experience is required
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Strong communication skills, with ability to interact and develop positive relationships with all levels within the organization
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred
• Previous glass industry experience is preferred 

What we offer at O-I:

Salary Range:  
The expected salary range for this position between $66,900 - $83,640 and includes a possible 12% quarterly incentive bonus.    Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
