Sr. Learning Experience Designer

Job Summary:


The Sr. Learning Experience Designer is responsible for developing high-quality customer enablement resources. This role focuses on creating engaging e-learning content, including microlearning modules, on-demand courses, videos, and interactive activities, to help customers fully utilize OpenGov’s 5+ product suites. The goal is to drive awareness and adoption, empowering customers to modernize and enhance their operations through effective learning experiences. 


Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the Director of Customer Enablement to develop a scalable customer education strategy. 
  • Collaborate with Learning Experience Designers to scope, develop, and execute training initiatives.
  • Design and develop high-impact eLearning content, including product knowledge courses, best practices, certifications, interactive activities, and video scripts.
  • Work with SMEs to scope and build role-based and use-case-specific learning materials.
  • Partner with Customer Success and Professional Services to determine best practices and develop targeted eLearning content.
  • Analyze and optimize existing OpenGov University materials, ensuring they align with evolving customer needs, product updates, and learning trends.
  • Establish and maintain a centralized content repository, ensuring materials are regularly reviewed, updated, and retired as needed.
  • Define and implement scalable processes for content creation, review, and maintenance.
  • Standardize course structures, activities, quizzes, certifications, and video scripts to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain certification programs for different product suites, including exams, assessments, and learning paths.
  • Establish and track key metrics to measure training effectiveness, adoption, and impact on customer success.


Some Projects You Would Work On:
  • Build and execute the content roadmap for each assigned product suite, prioritizing eLearning initiatives by quarter.
  • Develop and manage eLearning content aligned with OpenGov’s product suite strategy.
  • Standardize and implement Articulate Rise course templates for efficiency and consistency.
  • Maintain a content style guide and build best practices for instructional design.
  • Develop courses and assessments for four admin certification programs, ensuring an engaging and effective learning experience.


Requirements and Preferred Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in education, training development, instructional design, or a related field.
  • Expertise with course authoring tools (Articulate 360, Camtasia, etc.).
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and advise on learning strategies.
  • Experience developing video-based and course content, ideally for SaaS products.
  • Knowledge of various learning methodologies and the ability to blend them effectively.
  • Instructional design certification is a plus.
  • Experience working in the public sector is preferred but not required.


$90,000 - $120,000 a year
On target ranges above include base plus a portion of variable compensation that is earned based on company and individual performance.

The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
