IFRS Projects Officer

Optimal on behalf of its client, a leading banking institution is looking for an experienced and dynamic IFRS Projects Officer to join their Finance Department.

The ideal candidate will focus on the support and implementation of projects aligned with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), particularly with loan, deposit, treasury, and other banking products

 Responsibilities:

  • Participate in developing and implementing IFRS-related projects for banking products (loans, deposits, treasury).
  • Design and perform analytical reviews to evaluate the reasonableness of IFRS results produced by new implementations.
  • Structure accounting treatments under IFRS requirements for transactions related to Treasury (bonds, derivatives, hedge accounting), loans, and other banking activities.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with IFRS standards and monitor developments in the regulatory framework.
  • Design and establish controls and safeguards to ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting entries generated by IFRS applications.
  • Resolve complex accounting and technical issues arising during the production phase of new implementations.
  • Maintain continuous communication with various Bank departments, and oversee external partners involved in the above activities.

Requirements

  • BSc degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related field
  • MSc degree in related fields will be considered a plus
  • At least 4 years of previous relevant experience
  • ACCA or ACA certifications are desirable
  • Familiarity with ERP Accounting & Reporting systems is preferred
  • Strong ability to manage and analyze large volumes of data to assess IFRS outcomes (e.g., loan portfolio performance)
  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent knowledge of English language
  • Strong team player, able to collaborate across departments and manage cross-functional projects.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
