Who We Are Looking For: 

Phoenix Tailings is looking for a Sourcing Manager to join our team in Burlington or Exeter. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Sourcing Manager will be the key leader ensuring the continuity and continued growth of the business. Their primary goal will be to ensure the business continues operating and grows as fast as possible with as little cost as possible. They will be responsible for building robust processes, engaging key supply partners, drafting project plans, and will be one of the essential people to achieve our vision of a Zero Waste World.  

  

The Sourcing Manager will need to be one of the most reliable people in the company, working closely with the COO to ensure the entire organization achieves its mission each day. Even though this role reports to the COO, you will be a trusted resource for all team members. 


Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage cross-functional teams to develop and manage project plans, establish OKRs and KPIs 
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for essential equipment and materials with aggressive timelines and minimal budget  
  • Design operational plans for pilot and commercial-scale production facilities 
  • Create logistics and supply chain strategies for R&D, pilot, and commercial production facilities 
  • Ensure the team has needed resources to continue operating at full capacity despite unforeseen obstacles 
  • Collaborate with the founding team  on strategic missions as it relates to the operations of the company 
  • Be a trusted thought leader. This is one of the most important roles we are hiring for, and you will be an essential part of the Phoenix Tailings family. 


Qualifications:
  • Extensive startup experience with successful hardware, materials science, mining, or industrial startups required 
  • Demonstrated ability to source and evaluate both equipment and materials to ensure project continuity under aggressive timelines 
  • Project management and program management experience with high growth engineering teams 
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking capabilities in designing operations for pilot scale and commercial-scale facilities 
  • Experience building long term relationships with strategic suppliers and key partners 
  • Highly detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills 
  • Outstanding English communication skills both written and verbal 
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a STEM field
