The Security Manager is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring the overall security operations of all Planned Parenthood Great Plains facilities across four states. The focus in on security practices that protect the affiliate’s employees, patients, properties, facilities and physical assets. The incumbent supervises the security analyst and security officers to insure comprehensive coverage during business operations and external events.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Develop and recommend policies, protocols and procedures related to safety.  Incorporate third party recommendations in to PPGP practices and plans.
  • Develop or revise security plans for existing and new sites by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders which addresses site specific requirements. 
  • Hire, train, and develop security officers to insure a complete understanding of policies and procedures are all sites.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with local and Federal law enforcement and leverage shared technical knowledge in PPGP’s training curriculum.
  • Communicates in a timely manner with senior leadership on all security related matters that involve patient, staff and volunteer safety.
  • Sets the security guard staffing schedule.
  • Active participant in investigating security threats and breaches.
  • Writes comprehensive security reports.
  • Ensures the team follows security and privacy laws and standards.
  • Partners with PPFA and other affiliate security teams to better understand best practices. Presents security improvement ideas to leadership.
  • Works with the Director of Facilities and Security to train and orient security staff.
  • Partners with the People Development team to onboard new employees in all aspects of training and collaborates on the delivery of required annual security trainings for all staff.
  • Works jointly with Facilities to perform quarterly audits per Accreditation requirements.

  • Developing and Coaching People: Hires, trains and develops security officers.  Set performance standards and coaches direct reports on how to meet performance expectations.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Works cooperatively with others, inside and outside the organization, to accomplish objectives to build and maintain mutually-beneficial partnerships, leverage information, and achieve results.
  • Communication: Delivers clear, effective communication and takes responsibility for understanding others.
  • Effective Execution: Sets, commits to, and maintains high standards for quality work and responsiveness in providing administrative services; readily re-adjusts priorities to respond to pressing and changing demands.


Education and Experience
  • Required Education and Experience
  • 2-4 years of experience as security manager
  • 3-5 years of experience with security systems technology
  • 3-5 years of experience with security protocols and procedures
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Good de-escalation skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer literacy.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred Education and Experience
  • Security management experience in a healthcare setting
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement education or related area.


Physical Requirements
  • Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly.
  • Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and monitoring surveillance equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds



Annual Salary Range - $80,000-$85,000
