Technical Project Manager

We are building an AI system for analysts and scientists, based on a fundamentally new approach to reasoning and knowledge representation. We go beyond state-of-the-art LLMs by combining algorithms symbolically, to provide novel capabilities like performing multi-step analysis, displaying a verifiable reasoning path, and assessing uncertainty. We envision applications supporting and automating analysis and research in domains such as Finance, Strategy Consulting, Engineering, Material Sciences, and more.

We're seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to drive the process of our milestones and releases, and oversee the smooth execution of our product roadmap.

PlantingSpace is an ambitious early-stage startup with a talented team and the potential for large-scale impact. In this critical role you’ll have the opportunity to join the company at an early stage and grow along with us.

Useful experience
  • You’ve held a project manager or technical product manager role in an ambitious tech-driven organisation.
  • You have a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, and knowledge of analytical product development methods.
  • You’ve demonstrated a strong ability to turn ambiguous or high-level requirements into practical, manageable tasks.
  • You have some hands-on software development experience.
  • You’re an effective communicator, verbally and in writing, creating documentation that drives alignment and action in the team
  • You’ve worked with a remote team, and/or one with a strong writing culture.
  • You hold a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics - or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities
  • Roadmap planning: Develop and maintain our technical roadmap. Break down high-level or ambiguous goals into achievable milestones, and identify concrete tasks needed to reach them.
  • Milestone management: Setup and own a clear, repeatable process for our milestones: defining goals, identifying risks early, tracking progress, and making sure they are delivered.
  • Risk management: Keep track of key project metrics, anticipate roadblocks and dependencies. When problems arise, take practical steps to keep everything on track.
  • Process improvement: Continuously improve how the team works together. Identify ways to simplify tasks and automate processes, increasing overall efficiency.
  • Team leadership: Lead by example, motivating the team and providing clear direction. Encourage open feedback, and keep the team focused on achieving results.

Required mindset

We've found that our successful team members share some key characteristics, and as we've grown our team, these are the qualities we've learned to seek out. We take pride in our strong, collaborative culture, and these core attributes not only reflect our shared values, but can help you evaluate how well you might fit into our team:

A strong collaborator: You communicate with clarity and purpose, ensuring your ideas and intentions are easily understood. You work efficiently, embracing an iterative approach that allows for frequent progress and course correction. You’re open to direct feedback, adapting quickly and using it to improve both your work, and the performance of those around you.

A builder at heart: You’re passionate about building things, solving complex problems, and approaching challenges with an entrepreneurial spirit and humility. Your sharp sense of prioritisation allows you to take one step at a time while not losing the ultimate goal out of sight.

Results-driven: You thrive when taking full ownership of tasks, seeing them through from start to finish, and taking accountability for the results. You’re proactive, resourceful, and avoid over complication - anticipating problems, even in complex, uncertain environments.

Growth mindset: You are intellectually curious, have a critical mind, and seek opportunities to stretch your abilities. You explore the state-of-the-art, you dig deep to truly understand a problem, and question assumptions.

• Methodical problem-solver:

You excel at taking a complex goal and breaking it down into manageable components, with clear dependencies.

You balance independent problem solving with collaborative approaches, knowing when to tackle issues yourself and when to leverage team expertise.

You facilitate productive problem-solving in the team to drive efficient alignment, and improve proposed solutions.

You create clear documentation and knowledge-sharing systems that empower the entire team

Our team works fully remotely, and mostly within the CET timezone.
