Technical Implementation Specialist

What if you could personally impact the future of healthcare? As part of the PocketHealth team, you will enable hospitals and clinics across North America — and more importantly, empower over 2 million patients — to discover a better healthcare experience.

PocketHealth is a patient-centric platform that enables hospitals and clinics across North America to share imaging records digitally with patients, instantly and securely. Through our platform, we enable patients to be active and engaged participants in their own care, and take control of their care journey. In addition to image sharing, which is the heart of the PocketHealth platform, we’ve grown our core functionality to enable sharing between hospitals and physicians, as well as instant image retrieval and automated importing capability. PocketHealth is a unified image management solution for over 800 hospitals and clinics across North America. We believe that by placing patients at the center of the record release process, data moves more ethically, easily and securely throughout the care journey, and we’re looking for passionate individuals to help make this vision a reality for millions more patients across North America.

We are seeking a Technical Implementation Specialist with a strong background in medical imaging and healthcare IT to join our growing team. In this critical role, you’ll be the technical backbone for deploying, integrating, and supporting our imaging solutions across hospitals, imaging centres, and radiology groups.

You’ll work directly with clinical and IT stakeholders to configure integrations, troubleshoot DICOM and HL7 workflows, and ensure a seamless implementation experience. Your work will directly impact the way healthcare providers access, share, and manage diagnostic imaging — helping improve patient care across the board

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the technical implementation and configuration of imaging solutions for new customer sites, including PACS/RIS/EMR integrations.
  • Own the diagnosis and resolution of complex imaging workflow issues (e.g., DICOM conformance, image routing, study reconciliation)
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and support teams to improve product reliability, scalability, and usability.
  • Provide tier 2/3 support for imaging-related issues escalated from customer support.
  • Monitor and optimize customer environments using internal tools and logs; contribute to process automation where possible.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and knowledge base articles.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients on best practices in imaging interoperability, data security, and clinical workflow optimization.
  • Participate in customer calls and project meetings to ensure technical alignment and high-quality delivery.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical engineering or support role within the medical imaging, PACS, RIS, or healthcare IT space.
  • Deep knowledge of DICOM, HL7, and imaging informatics standards.
  • Experience with radiology workflows, modality configuration, and PACS troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with healthcare environments and data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, PHIPA).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and customer-facing skills.

Nice to have:
  • Experience with cloud-based imaging platforms, teleradiology, or interoperability tools (FHIR, IHE).
  • Prior experience working with major PACS/RIS vendors (GE, Sectra, Philips, Change, etc.).
  • Certifications in DICOM, HL7, CIIP, or other healthcare IT standards.

You can do amazing things at PocketHealth. You can positively impact the healthcare journey for millions of people, while building your career and developing your skills. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. It has been a part of our mission since our founding to empower patients & make healthcare accessible to all, and we know this can only be achieved with a team of diverse perspectives that is representative of the Patient & Provider communities we serve.

PocketPHolk love working here for these reasons and more; working remotely, our competitive salaries and benefits (stock options too!), four weeks of paid time off, unlimited wellness days, extended mental health coverage and beyond - it’s important to us that our PocketPHolk are taken care of in the same way we take care of our Patients & Providers.

If there are ways we can support you through the recruitment process with an accommodation, please let us know by reaching out to DEI@pocket.health. Applications are accepted via posting only.
