Summary
As the Business Development Manager for Commercial & Non-Profit Partnerships in the Northeast, you will play a pivotal role in expanding PosiGen’s impact by developing strategic relationships with businesses and 501(c) organizations. Using a 1-to-Many approach, you will drive referral sales through targeted outreach, market research, and close collaboration with internal teams. Your efforts will be instrumental in building a robust multi-state pipeline, strengthening community partnerships, and advancing our mission of making solar accessible to all.
While this position is Remote, we are prioritizing candidates located in one of our areas of operation: New Orleans, LA; Houston, TX; Salt Lake City, UT; Philadelphia, PA; and the surrounding Northeast region (NJ, CT, MA, RI, NH).
Essential Job Functions
- "1 to Many" Strategy Implementation:
- Engage businesses and 501(c) entities in Northeast markets to drive PosiGen's "1 to Many" strategy, fostering widespread solar adoption.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers within target organizations.
- Lead Generation & Referral Sales:
- Work closely with Residential Energy Specialists (RES) in various offices to identify potential lead sources.
- Conduct targeted outreach to businesses and 501(c) entities, delivering compelling pitches and nurturing relationships to secure referral sales.
- Build and maintain a robust multi-state sales funnel.
- Market Research & Opportunity Identification:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential business partners within Low-Income Community/Environmental Justice Communities (LIC-EC), and secondarily, non-LIC-EC communities (Co-Gen sales).
- Analyze market trends and identify strategic opportunities for partnership development.
- Community Impact Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the Community Impact team to secure business contacts and leads from community events (Co-Gen sales).
- Leverage community events as a source to build relationships.
- Sales & Relationship Management:
- Utilize strong selling capabilities to identify and qualify leads.
- Effectively communicate PosiGen's value proposition and financing options.
- Maintain accurate records and utilize CRM tools to track progress and manage relationships.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications & Requirements
- BA/BS degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 4+ years of proven success in business development
- 3+ years of demonstrated success in sales
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the week
- Familiarity with the solar energy sector is a plus but not required
- Experience with Salesforce and proficiency in Google Workspace preferred
- Bilingual candidates (Spanish-English) are highly preferred, especially for the Spanish initiative
- Must be flexible based on customer availability
- Must have a valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Willing to move through the pre-employment screening process

- Occasionally, the role may require sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Employees must be able to frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
- Vision requirements include the ability to focus at close and long distances, distinguish colors, maintain peripheral awareness, perceive depth, and make precise focus adjustments.
