Job Description: Project Manager – Defence Sector (Electrical/Electronic Equipment)
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Project Manager to join our Defence sector team. This role involves overseeing the delivery of electrical/electronic equipment throughout its lifecycle, from development to qualification and manufacturing. You will ensure the projects meet schedule, cost, quality, and performance expectations, while managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management of Equipment Delivery:
- Lead the delivery of electrical/electronic equipment during development, qualification, and manufacturing phases.
- Ensure all deliverables align with the project schedule, cost targets, quality standards, and performance requirements.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management:
- Manage relationships with internal and external design authorities, customers, and partners to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.
- Act as the main point of contact for project-specific hardware and software-related matters.
- Documentation and Evidence Review:
- Produce detailed Statements of Work (SOW) to define project scopes and objectives.
- Review and assess qualification verification evidence to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Non-Compliance Management:
- Track and resolve non-compliances effectively, minimizing project disruptions and ensuring alignment with established goals.
- Design Review Coordination:
- Arrange and oversee design reviews with appropriate stakeholders to validate and optimize designs.
- Budget Control and Work Package Management:
- Manage assigned budgets and ensure efficient utilization of resources within work packages.
- Provide accurate tracking and reporting on financial and operational progress.
- Risk and Opportunity Management:
- Identify and manage project risks, proposing mitigation strategies as necessary.
- Actively explore and capitalize on opportunities to improve project outcomes.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in project management within the defence sector or a similar technical industry.
- Strong understanding of electrical/electronic equipment development and manufacturing processes.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resolve non-compliances effectively.
- Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to risk and opportunity management.
- Ability to commute to Bristol or Stevenage as required.
- Security Clearance (SC) is mandatory.
