Intro and job overview: The Director of the IT Program Management Office (PMO) is responsible for leading the planning, management, and execution of IT projects and programs. You will lead a team of project managers and business system analysts, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and aligning project outcomes to business requirements and objectives. This role will work closely with the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) to ensure alignment with enterprise-wide project management standards and practices. 

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Leadership and Strategy:
    • Implement and continuously improve PMO processes, policies, and methodologies
    • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the IT PMO team.
    • Collaborate with senior management and business partners to align IT projects with business objectives, particularly during M&A activities.
  • M&A Integration:
    • Lead IT integration efforts during mergers and acquisitions.
    • Develop and execute integration plans to ensure smooth transitions.
    • Manage risks and issues related to M&A integration, implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and maintain relationships with key business stakeholders.
    • Facilitate communication between project teams and business partners
    • Ensure stakeholder requirements and expectations are met.
  • Project and Program Management:
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects and programs.
    • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
    • Manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies.
    • Collaborate with the EPMO and Project Management Center of Excellence to integrate IT project management best practices with broader organizational initiatives.
  • Resource Management:
    • Allocate resources effectively across projects. 
    • Ensure the PMO team has the necessary skills and training.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • In collaboration with EPMO, establish performance metrics and KPIs for project success.
    • Provide regular updates business partners and senior management.
    • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in IT project and program management.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience leading and managing a PMO team
    • Significant experience in M&A integration, including planning and executing IT integration strategies.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Expertise in M&A integration processes and best practices.
  • Certifications:
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is highly desirable.
