The Rental Fleet Manager oversees the company's vehicle fleet to ensure efficient operations, safety compliance, and cost-effective management. This role includes budgeting, procurement, maintenance coordination, and team leadership, supporting overall company logistics and operational objectives.

 

LOCATION

Onsite – Fort Wayne, IN or Fort Worth, TX – 10% Travel


COMPENSATION

This position has a competitive compensation package combining base salary plus the potential for profit sharing paid quarterly after one year of employment. 


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage daily fleet operations, ensuring vehicle readiness and maintenance.
  • Develop and enforce fleet policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate vehicle repairs, inspections, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Lead, train, and assess fleet staff, fostering teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Manage fleet budgets, tracking costs for maintenance, fuel, and procurement.
  • Analyze fleet performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee vehicle and parts procurement, ensuring quality and value.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service providers.
  • Collaborate with logistics and operations teams for optimal vehicle deployment.
  • Implement scheduling systems to enhance vehicle utilization and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal fleet regulations.
  • Enforce safety policies and conduct regular audits and training sessions.
  • Use fleet management software to monitor vehicle performance, maintenance, and operational metrics.
  • Generate performance reports and lead improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service, addressing issues proactively.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure fleet operations align with broader business goals.


REQUIREMENTS
  • MUST HAVE
  • 5+ years of rental fleet management or related experience.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with fleet management software and related technology.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • NICE TO HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • CAFM certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) ERP, Salesforce CRM, Fleetwave FMS, and Microsoft Power BI.
