The Field Site Technician at PrePass is a highly skilled professional responsible for utilizing advanced electronics knowledge to handle a variety of technical assignments. This role involves troubleshooting, installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing electronic computing and communication equipment. Technicians operate independently on critical, time-sensitive assignments and may guide less experienced staff. They frequently serve as part of a quick-response customer support team, resolving complex work orders to ensure timely and effective solutions.
• Hardware and Software Support: Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network operating issues, using specialized test equipment to diagnose and resolve problems. Address related communication challenges, including those in LAN environments, cable connections, and fiber optics.
• Preventive Maintenance and Repair: Perform bench-level preventive maintenance, repairs, and replacements for computer terminals, microprocessor components, peripherals, and associated communication and information management equipment.
• Equipment Setup and Configuration: Assemble, install, configure, modify, and relocate hardware and software at client sites for regular or special function use. Conduct roadside hardware and software diagnosis and maintenance, including pole-mounted equipment. Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure compliance with client requirements.
• Customer Interaction: Provide high-quality customer service as a company representative, ensuring a professional demeanor, clear communication, and responsiveness.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance activities. Escalate unresolved issues promptly to appropriate levels for resolution.
• Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team while independently managing tasks to meet client expectations and time-sensitive deadlines.
• Education and Experience: Vocational, trade school, or technical training, or an associate degree in electrical or electronic technology, or equivalent work experience.
• Technical Expertise: Proven ability to perform maintenance and repair at the sub-assembly/component level and use various diagnostic tools. Proficiency with basic PC operations and specialized tools, including ladders, hydraulic lifts, and electrical lifts.
• Driving Requirements: Valid state-issued driver’s license with a good driving record. Ability to be insured on the corporate insurance policy and responsibility for a company vehicle. Experience towing equipment or trailers is a plus.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities with a commitment to quality and ethical work practices.
• Customer Orientation: Excellent verbal communication skills, professional appearance, and a strong customer service orientation.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work in confined spaces, frequently climb, bend, stoop, crawl, and lift 40–60 lbs.
• Flexibility and Travel: Willingness to travel 50% of the time and respond to maintenance issues within the assigned region and occasionally outside the designated territory.

The environment is fast-paced, customer-focused, and often high-pressure. Travel is required for up to 50% of the time, and tasks may extend beyond the assigned geographic region based on operational needs.
