Data Management Specialist

General Description and Responsibilities

 

The Data Management Specialist will oversee data production for the assigned department and will ensure the quality of the data produced.  The selected candidate will be able to accurately analyze and interpret statistical information.

·         Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for the day-to-day performance of the operations

·         Serves as point of contact for data-related tasks by coordinating the production of data by the assigned department.

·         Identifies and analyzes the logical data base structure for company’s current and future needs.

·         Creates, develops, maintains, and controls the corporate database.

·         Collaborates with various departments to identify needs; refines system to maximize multipurpose uses.

·         Gathers, organizes, and interprets data to provide reports to upper management.

·         Ensures database projects and schedules are completed on time.

·         Uses data and analysis to determine the impact of practice initiatives, identify operational risks, prioritize efforts, and implement changes to drive efficiencies and improve patient experiences

·         Facilitates strategies to ensure growth of programs, identifying and implementing process improvements in conjunction with department managers that will maximize operational efficiencies

·         Analyze provider productivity; communicate productivity and partner with scheduling to maximize productivity

·         Build and maintain positive relationships with all department heads, physicians, external partners, and vendors

·         Uphold organization policies and standards


Competencies
  • Strong analytical, project management and problem-solving skills
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary
  • Ability to work within a fast paced, quickly evolving organization and manage multiple complex priorities
  • Politically astute with exceptional interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication


Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior work experience in the data analytics field
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Health Care, or a related field required
  • Extensive knowledge of data preparation procedures and requirements
  • Proficient in Tableau, EPIC and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Project management and process improvement methodology background preferred
