Mechanical Designer/Drafter

PURVIS has an immediate full-time position open for a Mechanical Designer/Drafter with experience in SolidWorks,. AutoCAD and PCB (printed circuit board) software. Candidate will be a member of the engineering design/drafting team.

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:

Support U.S Navy system designs and development.
Review of government furnished information (GFI) and engineering drawing redlines to incorporate into drawing packages as required.
Review engineering drawing readlines.
Develop 3D models by analyzing prototypes and 2D drawings.
Create, update and maintain mechanical drawing packages using Solidworks and AutoCAD.
Drawing packages may include production drawings, circuit card assemblies, parts list, schematic diagrams, assembly and test fixture drawings.
Update and maintain PCB drawings using Altium, CAM 350, or equivalent programs.
Ensure drawings comply with standards and practices.

Qualifications:

5-10 years professional experience.
Ability to work independently and require little rework.
Ability to review engineering drawings and understand required changes.
Ability to work closely with Subject Matter Experts and U.S. Navy military and civilian personnel.
Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks required.
Proficiency with AutoCAD required.
Knowledge of PCB software required; Altium is a plus.
Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) required.
Experience work with Autodesk inventor or other 3D packages is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
Knowledge of existing submarine systems, Military Specifications, and previous defense industry is a plus, but not required.

Candidate must be able to obtain a government security clearance to the level of SECRET.
