Job Description

QAD is seeking a Engineering Operations Data Analyst who will be responsible for gathering, analysing, and interpreting data related to software development processes, performance, and quality. This role involves developing metrics, generating insightful reports, and working closely with engineering teams to identify areas of improvement, optimize workflows, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, knowledge of development tools (Jira, Aha!, GitLab, etc.) and experience surfacing engineering financial and operational data.

What will you do:

  • Metrics collection and definition - Design systems and processes to automate the collection of software metrics.

  • Data analysis and reporting - Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and areas of improvement in development processes. Generate dashboards and reports to present actionable insights to engineering and leadership teams.

  • Tooling and integration - Integrate metrics collection with existing development tools (e.g., Jira, GitLab, Aha!, etc.). Evaluate and implement analytics tools to enhance metric tracking and reporting capabilities.

  • Stakeholder collaboration - Work with engineering managers, product owners, and project managers to align metrics with project objectives.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in software development, quality assurance, or data analytics roles.

  • Proven experience working with software development metrics and process improvement.

  • Strong knowledge of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

  • Proficiency in data visualization tools.

  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, GitLab, GitHub, Aha!, etc. for metric extraction.

  • Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, or Python for data analysis.

  • Flexibility to work Western European Time Zone hours.
