Accounting Manager

Quandela is a European scale up that provides photonic quantum computers that are modular, scalable, energy-efficient and accessible both on the cloud and on premise. 

Our team of 140 employees specialises in the development of both software and hardware solutions for a variety of quantum applications. We offer a wide range of services, from developing the most efficient and brightest single photons sources, to creating algorithms for quantum computers and providing cloud quantum computing solutions. 

Quandela plays a pivotal role as a strategic partner in the quantum transformation of industrial sectors such as energy, finance, pharmaceuticals, and transportation. Furthermore, we are esteemed collaborators within the academic and research community. 

• Following a successful €50 million fundraising in 2023, we are now scaling up our commercial ventures alongside our ongoing research endeavors.  
• Quandela has been chosen to participate in the French Tech 2030 program, which aims to bolster French companies pioneering groundbreaking innovations. 

Reporting to the CFO, your main tasks will be :

- Accounting supervision in conjunction with the accounting firm:

o Supervising and coordinating all the accounting operations of the Group's entities, including general and auxiliary accounting.

o Ensure that the accounts are properly kept

o Guarantee the reliability and accuracy of accounting and financial information.

- Quarterly and annual closings in conjunction with the accounting firm and Financial Control:

o Managing the quarterly and annual closings within the required deadlines,

o Preparing and supervising accounting closing work: closing entries, provisions, adjustments, etc.

o Working with the external auditors on audit and review assignments.

- Internalisation project:

o Carrying out the accounting internalisation project, including the introduction of new tools and processes.

o Train and support internal teams in the new accounting processes and tools.

- Process optimisation:

o Streamline and optimise accounting processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.

o Implementing robust accounting and financial procedures.

o Automating and digitising accounting processes with a view to continuous improvement.

- Team management :

o Supervising and supporting an accounting assistant in her daily tasks.

o Ensuring the development of skills and the growth of the accounting team.

- Cash management :

o Supervises the day-to-day management of cash and cash flows.

o Monitoring cash flow forecasts in conjunction with the Financial Controller.

o Ensure that relations with banking partners are properly managed.

- Compliance and taxation in conjunction with the accountancy firm:

o Ensuring that accounting practices comply with current standards and tax regulations.

o Supervising the preparation and filing of tax and social security returns.

o Continuously monitor regulatory developments and update accounting practices accordingly.

- University degree (master 2) in accounting, finance or a related field.

- At least 10 years' professional experience in an accounting firm and/or company, preferably in a deeptech or technology sector.

- Mastery of local and international accounting principles and tax standards.

- Proven experience in managing teams and supervising accounting operations.

- Advanced skills in accounting software and financial management tools.

- Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt quickly to change.

- Very Good level of English to work in an international environment (2 subsidiaries abroad).
