Rainmaker is pioneering a modern cloud seeding system designed to address water scarcity and adverse weather conditions. We develop and integrate radar validation, weather-resistant UAS, numerical weather modeling, and sustainable cloud seeds into a highly effective precipitation enhancement solution.
We are seeking highly motivated and adventurous individuals interested in deploying advanced drone and precipitation enhancement technologies in remote locations worldwide. This position is an 8‑month seasonal contract with the potential for full‑time employment based on performance.
What You'll Do- Lead on‑site deployment and operation of UAV precipitation enhancement systems at various locations.
- Conduct pre‑flight checks, monitor flight operations, and perform post‑flight maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real time to ensure mission success.
- Work flexible hours, including nights, to leverage optimal precipitation enhancement conditions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve UAV designs and precipitation enhancement payloads.
- Develop and maintain deployment procedures and documentation.
- Analyze flight data and environmental conditions to optimize seeding operations.
- Contribute to the development of autonomous flight capabilities for precipitation enhancement missions.
Required Qualifications- Demonstrated experience operating in challenging field environments, with a proven ability to complete tasks successfully in adverse outdoor climates.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently in remote locations.
- Willingness to travel and deploy for extended seasonal periods (up to several months).
- Physically fit and able to lift moderate to heavy equipment.
- Possession of a valid passport and the ability to secure necessary visas for international deployments.
- Valid US driver’s license.
Earned Experience- If you don’t already have these skills (which are preferred but not required) you will earn them over the course of your employment in one season.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- Guaranteed 500+ flight hours
- State-of-the-art sUAS piloting and maintenance experience
- Experience operating and maintaining advanced meteorological sensing systems
- Logistics for remote, distributed operations in adverse conditions
- Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and software engineering & atmospheric field science
$45,000 - $65,000 a year
The posted pay range is for an 8-month contract and roughly equates to $67,500-$97,500 annually for Specialists that get offered a full-time position at the end of the contract period
