The Senior Application Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of our IT applications landscape, directly contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes.
Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve issues related to application functionality, performance and integration with our vendor support team
- Collaborate with end-users at a second-level capacity, delving into intricate application-related challenges to understand their specific nature, and deliver prompt and advanced solutions
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners to address application-related issues and enhancements
- Assist in the implementation of new business applications, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems
- Propose and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of business applications
- Develop comprehensive training materials, user guides, and documentation to support the effective utilization of IT applications
- Proactively identify performance bottlenecks, scalability issues, or security vulnerabilities, and implement corrective measures to optimize application performance and ensure data integrity
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies governing the use of IT applications
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in business applications
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Proficiency in configuring and supporting business applications (e.g., ERP systems, CRM)
- Comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, databases, and cloud computing platforms, and their interactions with software applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical language
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent job experience
- 5+ years of experience in IT support, with a focus on applications management and support
- Strong technical expertise in software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate) are a plus
