Scope:

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at RecordPoint, you will lead and drive quality from a software engineering mindset. Your role will involve leveraging your expertise in software testing and automation to collaboratively develop new features and enhance existing components of our SaaS product. You will focus on ensuring the quality and reliability of our software by implementing robust testing strategies and frameworks, while also being aware of the UI implications of what we build and how it deploys into the real world, impacting our customers.

You will take the lead on certain initiatives within your scrum team, helping to research, scope, design, and implement new testing approaches. Your experience will be invaluable as you mentor and coach more junior team members, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement. Your passion and curiosity will drive us to innovate and elevate our testing practices.

You will be both an individual contributor, developing automated tests and testing tools, and an exemplary teammate, collaborating closely with developers to ensure that quality is integrated throughout the development process.

• Drive large, complex testing initiatives autonomously, from designing robust test strategies to ensuring successful launch readiness.
• Develop comprehensive test plans for large-scale projects, including automated and manual testing approaches.
• Tackle complex quality and architectural challenges, ensuring testing frameworks align with architectural standards and are integrated into new projects.
• Lead test code reviews, ensure thorough documentation, and take on complex test automation bugs, especially for high-risk areas.
• Be an example for creating meaningful and effective test reviews, promoting high-quality test code.
• Collaborate across engineering teams to define and execute testing strategies for company-wide initiatives spanning multiple projects.
• Transfer your depth of development knowledge to build and optimize testing frameworks and tools, excelling as a quality-focused engineer.
• Mentor junior team members on test automation, quality engineering practices, and advanced debugging techniques.

• Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, particularly in identifying and resolving software quality issues.
• Extensive experience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks and pipelines using modern delivery techniques.
• A real passion for software quality, clean test code, and continuous improvement in testing practices.
• A strong understanding of architectural concepts, cloud-based solution design, and their impact on testability.
• Highly dedicated ethos, taking end-to-end ownership of testing processes and quality outcomes.
• Demonstrable ability to motivate self and others, with a passion for mentoring junior engineers in quality assurance and test automation best practices.
• Ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders on the importance of quality and testing strategies.
• Considers customer impact and user experience when designing test strategies and automation.
• A real appetite for learning and growing in quality engineering practices, both as an individual and teammate.
• A test-and-learn mindset with an emphasis on curiosity, collaboration, and care, particularly in driving quality improvements.
