QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
Genuine interest in and caring for people. Caring must include friendliness and listening abilities. Good communication skills, both oral and written. Must be a well-organized person with effective follow through
WORKING HOURS:
A non-exempt employee. Forty (40) hours per week
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carries out housekeeping duties as instructed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public.

DUTIES:
• Completes cleaning lists in both resident rooms and common areas as assigned.
• Stocks housekeeping cart as needed with approved supplies.
• Empty garbage as needed
• Clean beauty salon as needed.
• Notify residents of cleaning schedule.
• Vacuum, mop, dust, and sanitize kitchen and baths in each scheduled apartment.
• Steam clean carpets and upholstery as instructed.
• Perform special cleaning assignment for apartment turnover.
• Assist with tables, chairs and other necessary furniture (coat rack, wastebasket, etc.)
• Assist with clean-up after events
• Properly dilute and use all chemicals daily, in accordance with procedures.
• Wear protective gloves when performing various tasks.
• Report any hazardous conditions or equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
• Stock necessary supplies
• Respond to housekeeping emergencies.
• Be supportive of residents by offering direction and conversation.
• Uses protocols and other “best safe practices” when filling or using cleaners, detergents, and other chemicals to include use of goggles and gloves.
• Completes room “changeovers” before and after resident moves.
• Completes and follows in house safety program and insures compliance with all safety laws (i.e. OSHA, Fire Authority, etc.)
• Understands and promotes the community’s fire and accident prevention, sanitation procedures, and use of fire safety equipment.
• ESW assist with evacuation or other support in an emergency.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms daily. Vacuum carpets as instructed.
• Clean glass on front doors.
• Vacuum hallways and sitting areas on all floors, as needed.
• Empty garbage as needed.
