About the Podcast
Very Important Human is a podcast series that celebrates the irreplaceable value of human skill, creativity, and mastery in the age of AI. Each episode features a guest from the tech industry whose contributions prove that some things still require a human touch.
With our expansion into video, we’re crafting a premium visual companion to our in-depth interviews—enhancing the emotional resonance and storytelling impact of each episode.
Role Overview
We’re seeking a skilled and creative Video Post-Production Editor to help transform raw multi-camera interview footage and b-roll into polished, cinematic episodes. You’ll work closely with producers and the host to shape the visual narrative, maintain brand consistency, and deliver export-ready files for YouTube and social platforms.
Key Responsibilities
• Edit 40–60 minute video podcast episodes using multi-cam footage, synced audio, and motion graphics
• Create engaging cold opens, transitions, lower-thirds, and dynamic cuts that hold attention
• Sync audio with video and integrate clean, mastered sound provided by the audio team
• Color correct and grade footage for a consistent, professional look across episodes
• Deliver final files in formats suitable for YouTube, reels, and social media teasers
• Cut and export short-form highlights and promo clips from each episode
• Collaborate with producers and host to revise cuts and finalize episodes on schedule
You Might Be a Fit If You:
• Have 2+ years of experience editing video podcasts, interviews, or documentary content
• Are proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro (and ideally After Effects) or Final Cut Pro
• Have experience working with multi-camera footage and remote interviews
• Understand visual pacing, story arcs, and emotional beats in editing
• Have an eye for clean, modern design and composition
• Are detail-oriented and reliable on delivery timelines
• Thrive in a creative environment and can work independently with minimal oversight
Nice to Have:
• Experience editing tech-focused or thought-leadership content
• Knowledge of YouTube best practices (thumbnails, metadata, export settings)
• Familiarity with audio enhancement tools or workflows (e.g. syncing, light EQing)
• Basic motion graphics experience (titles, transitions, animation of quotes or key ideas)
What We Offer:
• Competitive per-episode rate (based on experience and scope)
• Flexible, fully remote work environment
• Creative collaboration on a mission-driven, high-quality podcast
• Opportunity to shape the visual identity of a growing, premium brand
• Exposure to leading voices in tech, ethics, and creativity
