Medical Collections Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Collection Specialist to join their Revenue Cycle Management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure daily goals for cash collections and Account Receivable over 90 days are met
• Research outstanding balances and take necessary collection actions to resolve them promptly
• Negotiate payment plans with patients and interact with third-party collection agencies

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; some college preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in medical collections with knowledge of insurance reimbursements
• Working knowledge of automated billing systems; experience with CPR+ is preferred
• Familiarity with basic accounting practices and coding (ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
