Job Description:
We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Remote Multivariable Calculus Tutor to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong mathematical background and a passion for teaching who are eager to support students navigating topics beyond AP Calculus, in a fully online setting.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct live, one-on-one or small group virtual tutoring sessions in Multivariable Calculus, focusing on clear communication and deep conceptual understanding.
• Develop personalized lesson plans tailored to each student’s learning style, goals, and current level.
• Teach advanced topics such as vector-valued functions, partial derivatives, multiple integrals, line/surface integrals, and theorems of Green, Stokes, and Gauss.
• Help students build both theoretical understanding and computational proficiency.
• Provide strategies for solving complex problems and managing time effectively during assessments.
• Evaluate and offer feedback on assignments, problem sets, and practice exams.
• Create a supportive, engaging, and interactive virtual learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with students (and parents when appropriate) to track progress and address any challenges.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
• Strong command of Multivariable Calculus and related vector analysis topics.
• Prior experience tutoring or teaching advanced college-level math in an online format.
• Excellent ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and accessible way.
• Proficiency with remote teaching tools such as Zoom, virtual whiteboards, screen sharing, and math-specific platforms (e.g., Desmos, GeoGebra, Overleaf/LaTeX).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students in a virtual setting.
• Passion for education and helping students grow both academically and personally.
Schedule & Compensation:
• 100% remote position with flexible hours (evenings/weekends may be required based on student needs).
• Part-time role with potential for additional hours during peak academic periods.
• Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and qualifications.
