Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Records Coder II (Inpatient).

Key Responsibilities
  • Code medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 conventions and ensure accurate reimbursement
  • Review complex medical records and coordinate the work of subordinate employees while conducting audits
  • Consult with physicians and educate them on coding practices and documentation requirements
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma required
  • Must hold one of the following certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or HCS-D
  • CCS certification requires one year of coding experience; CPC or HCS-D certification requires two years of coding experience
  • No experience required for RHIA and RHIT certifications
  • Participation in continuing education programs is necessary to maintain coding knowledge
