Job Summary:
The Packing Assistant will play an essential role in ensuring the careful handling, preparation, and shipment of historical artifacts and materials. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and respect for the preservation of delicate and valuable items.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safely pack historical artifacts, documents, and other materials for storage or shipment.
• Label and document items with accuracy to maintain proper records.
• Inspect materials to ensure they are properly preserved during transportation or storage.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the packing and storage areas.
• Assist with inventory management and item cataloging.
• Follow all safety protocols and handling guidelines to prevent damage to historical items.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and packing requirements.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in packing, inventory management, or a related role is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle delicate items with care.
• Basic computer skills for maintaining records and labels.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 45 pounds.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Interest in history, genealogy, or archival work is a bonus.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.50 – $18.20 per hour
