Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive remote Project Manager for warehouse racking systems implementation to oversee various projects from inception to completion.
The ideal candidate will reside in the South/Southeast of the United States and work remotely, with the ability to travel 50% of the time.
This REB Project Manager will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of project management methodologies. This role requires effective communication, time management, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances while ensuring project objectives are met. The REB Project Manager is responsible for the successful implementation of material handling systems in storage areas.
Key Responsibilities
• Source vendor capabilities and costs, place orders for required materials and subcontractors. Checks bills of material and orders for accuracy.
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues and implement solutions promptly.
• Prepare project schedule, obtain lead times for materials, manage logistics and freight costs, and regularly update stakeholders throughout the project.
• Review and approve installation drawings and BOM with Designers and review special requirements with installation subcontractor prior to start date.
• Monitor project implementation processes, adjusting plans as necessary to meet changing needs.
• Contact the local building department and document the requirements for obtaining a permit, review all permit drawings and structural calculation set drawings for accuracy. Obtain sprinkler and electrical contractor requirements to include on rack drawings.
• Communicate clearly with all stakeholders on each project including suppliers, subcontractors, customer, sales, building department, and upper management.
• Facilitate regular status meetings with stakeholders, providing updates on progress and addressing any concerns.
• Review open projects with Director, maintain updated project pricing summary sheets, keep updated project schedules and ensure customer invoices reflect agreed terms.
• Obtain customer project sign-off; addressing all punch list items and reviewing final project with Director.
• Lead project planning sessions, defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned and executed effectively.
• Implement change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions during project phases.
• Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards in project deliverables.
• Work on several projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment with daily deadlines.
• Oversee program development initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Other responsibilities as needed.
Knowledge Requirements
• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or civil engineering, or a related field, is preferred. Equivalent experience, combined with an associate’s degree or relevant certifications, will also be considered.
• PMP Certification is a plus, but not a requirement.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in storage rack systems, including selective pallet racking, drive-in/drive-through systems, cantilever racks, and mezzanines. In-depth knowledge of material handling industry standards, safety regulations (e.g., RMI, OSHA), and best practices for warehouse layout and rack design.
• Familiarity with project lifecycle management, from planning and procurement to installation and post-installation support.
• Demonstrated understanding of; calculating project profitability, project scheduling, permitting requirements, installation requirements, change order process and defining project scope.
• Experience using ERP platforms (preferably SAP Business One) is a plus

• Communication and Leadership: Strong stakeholder management, both technical and non-technical; ability to lead cross-functional teams
• Technical Acumen: Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications; understanding data migration, testing and changing management processes.
• Problem-Solving and Analytical Thinking: Capacity to analyze workflow inefficiencies and propose systems-based solutions. Troubleshooting system errors, integration issues and deployment failures.
• Vendor/Subcontractor Management: Experience coordinating with vendors, consultants or third-party integrators; ability to negotiate, monitor, budget-control and set efficient timelines.
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, structural calculations, and installation plans: Strong written, verbal and listening skills; strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and structural calculations, and installation plans.
Ability Requirements
• Expertise with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and MS Project (job costing reports, resource scheduling and tracking)
• Demonstrated ability to execute large projects on-time and under budget
• Travel (50%) to pull permits, measure buildings, and manage installation (domestic and possibly international)
• Flexibility to work over 40 hours per week as necessary during peak workloads.
• Remote position, home-based out of the South/Southeast of the United States only.
