Job Summary

A company is looking for a Remote Outpatient Coder responsible for coding and abstracting inpatient accounts in accordance with coding guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Assigns accurate diagnostic and procedure codes for outpatient hospital accounts based on clinical documentation
• Reviews HCPCS charges and codes for appropriateness of modifiers and enters accurate charge information as needed
• Monitors assigned work queues to ensure timely charging of all records and generates coding queries for clarification as necessary

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of relevant work experience
• Certification options include CCA, CCS, CPC, CPC-A, RHIA, or RHIT
