Job Description

Essential Functions:

Deploys the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to carry out the following functions:
• Retrieves exhaustive information relevant to the health status or situation of the healthcare recipient.
• Interprets the evaluation data to ascertain the diagnosis or issues.
• Anticipates the expected results for a customized approach tailored to the healthcare user.
• Crafts a plan that outlines different methods and options to attain desired outcomes.
• Carries out the identified plan. Secures that the patient is advancing along the plan.
• Coordination of Care involves aligning various aspects of care delivery.
• Health Education and Health Advocacy – employs strategies to educate about well-being and promote a secure environment.
• Consultation by advanced practice registered nurses and nursing role specialists focuses on influencing the identified plan, enhancing the skills of others, and effecting change.
• Judges the evolution in reaching the set targets.

Adhering to the Guidelines of the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010):
• – A systematic strategy is employed to enhance the quality and efficacy of nursing practice
• Demonstrates proficiency and expertise in line with current best practices in nursing
• Reflecting on personal nursing practice in reference to professional practice standards, guidelines, and relevant statutes and rules
• Collaborates with and influences the professional development of coworkers and associates
• Involved in partnerships with patients, their families, and other relevant parties in nursing practice
• Incorporates ethical considerations throughout their professional activities
• Adapting research results for practical use
• In the planning and delivery of nursing services, it is critical to examine elements like safety, effectiveness, cost factors, and their implications for healthcare practices to enhance the quality of care provided
• Takes the helm in the professional practice environment and the profession
• Executing initiatives that adhere to principles of environmental sustainability and human health
• Validates the mission, outlook, and values of Monument Health.
• The legal scope of practice for Registered Professional Nurses is determined by the state in which they are employed, and they must provide competent care that complies with the standards and regulations set by accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies.
• Complies with the ethical guidelines prescribed in the Code of Ethics for Nurses by the ANA in 2010.

Skillfully leverages relevant technology and software to achieve objectives:
• Help with documenting nursing interventions and patient care activities.
• Access other work-related applications necessary to be an engaged and active associate of the organization, such as company email, iLearn modules, employee engagement surveys, benefits and compensation information, and policies and procedures.
• Actively engages in finding opportunities to elevate the standard of patient care through creative and innovative solutions.
• Duties beyond the usual scope may be designated.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education – Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications – Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – American Heart Association (AHA) – Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) – South Dakota Board of Nursing

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience – 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education – Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work – exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
