Job description

Whizara is looking for Certified Special Education Teachers/Case Managers for teaching and working collaboratively with educators, parents, and support staff to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring that each student’s unique learning needs are met in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• IEP Development and Implementation, ensuring they are created, updated, and reviewed in compliance with legal timelines.
• Collaborate with parents, general education teachers, related service providers, and specialists to develop and implement appropriate IEPs.
• Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and make adjustments as necessary.
• Act as the primary point of contact for parents, guardians, and teachers regarding student progress, needs, and concerns.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of each student’s educational plan, services, and progress, meetings, communications, and services provided to students.
• Provide guidance and support to teachers and staff in implementing accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities.
• Coordinate with related service providers (e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors) to ensure all services are delivered effectively.
• Facilitate IEP meetings, ensuring they are scheduled, conducted, and documented in compliance with legal requirements.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to assess student needs and develop appropriate educational strategies.
• Ensure timely submission of all documentation for IEP reviews, progress reports, and other special education requirements.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid state certification or licensure as a Special Education teacher or case manager in the state of California.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting, preferably in a case management role.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations (e.g., IDEA, 504 plans, ADA).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations, parents, and educational professionals.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases and timelines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
• Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour
