Overview:
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and disciplined Biologics Coordinator to support the clinic’s work in initiating and maintaining biologic medication treatment plans for patients. This includes managing prior authorizations, medication refills, orders, and appeals, and coordinating closely with pharmacies, insurance providers, vendors, and internal clinical staff.
This is a high-focus, process-driven role that requires accuracy, independence, and in-depth knowledge of healthcare administrative processes, especially in relation to specialty medications. If you take pride in getting things “done right” with a quiet dedication and technical expertise, you may be the perfect fit for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the initiation of new biologic therapies, including gathering documentation, processing prior authorizations, and following up with stakeholders
- Track and follow through on refill requests, medication orders, and insurance appeal submissions
- Communicate frequently with external parties (pharmacies, vendors, insurers) and internal staff (medical assistants, providers) in a clear, factual, and efficient manner
- Accurately maintain and update patient medication records
- Monitor queues for prescription processing, benign result messaging, and related clinical support tasks
- Develop and maintain specialty knowledge of biologic therapies, pharmacy processes, and insurance guidelines
- Review clinical documentation for completeness and identify missing elements that may delay care
- Track detailed data for reporting or compliance as needed
