Support Engineer – Microsoft & Windows

Location: Remote (UK Hours)
Salary: R28,000/month
Schedule: Monday to Friday

Job Overview

Are you a technically skilled IT support professional with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service? We are looking for a Support Engineer to join a UK-based technology services company, providing remote support during UK business hours. This role is ideal for someone with solid experience in Microsoft 365 environments, PSA/RMM tools, and strong communication skills. If you thrive in customer-facing roles and are ready to take ownership of technical issues, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve service tickets using PSA and RMM tools (preferably ConnectWise).
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Microsoft 365 and Windows-based systems.
  • Deliver professional and timely assistance to clients in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) setting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to escalate and resolve complex issues efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate time-tracking and ticket updates using tools such as Work Composer.
  • Follow up with clients to ensure complete issue resolution and satisfaction.
  • Support root cause analysis and implement proactive solutions where applicable.
  • Uphold cybersecurity standards, including phishing simulations and basic protocols when needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in IT support, helpdesk, or service delivery roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, Windows troubleshooting, and general IT support.
  • Proven experience in customer-facing IT roles; MSP experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ConnectWise Manage PSA and ConnectWise RMM tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be confident, clear, and professional with clients.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks.
  • Quiet, professional home office setup with a reliable internet connection.
  • Ability to work consistently during UK business hours (Monday–Friday).
  • Comfortable using time-tracking tools such as Work Composer.

Desirable:

  • IT certifications (e.g., MCSA, ITIL, ITSM) or equivalent practical knowledge.
  • Exposure to tools like Guardz and understanding of phishing simulations and cybersecurity basics.
  • Experience leading technical teams or a desire to step into a leadership role.
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset, including root cause analysis and proactive support.
