Senior Communications Associate

Ripple Effect is seeking a dynamic and experienced communications associate to join our team to support strategic communications planning and management across multiple channels including social media, website, email marketing, and webinars. This position will be responsible for the development, distribution, and measurement of project communications across all key audiences.  

The ideal candidate will have experience with federal clients and bring innovative ideas for optimizing workflows and achieving improvements in project communication objectives within the constraints of the brand. The ideal candidate will also bring the ability to provide both a strategic, audience-focused orientation and detail-oriented editorial management to the multi-functional team.

Responsibilities 

Editorial Planning and Communications Strategy  

  • Develop comprehensive communication strategies and campaigns. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align campaign goals with overall business objectives. 
  • Update and tailor messaging to reflect an evolving program with multiple audiences to maximize engagement and impact. 
  • Maintain and optimize an editorial calendar. Support refresh of communications strategy development of communications plans.

Communications Execution and Channel Management 

  • Lead development of communication materials and collateral, including social media copy and graphics, media pitches and press releases, talking points and speeches, website copy, and newsletters. 
  • Monitor, analyze, and report out on the performance of campaigns and communications activities across all channels; recommend data-driven insights to refine and improve future activities and campaigns. 
  • Oversee management of email marketing and social media tools. 
  • Provide communications subject matter expertise for channel optimization and media relations, as appropriate.  

Team Leadership and Editorial Oversight 

  • Provide oversight and direction to a team of content developers and coordinators (including technical writers, social media specialists and graphic designers) to develop content that aligns with project style and branding guidelines and reflects audience needs and channel best practices. 
  • Implement and enforce use of quality review protocols to minimize risk of errors. 
  • Coordinate with other functional teams (website developers, creatives, event planners, communications researchers, copy editors) to successfully achieve shared goals. 

Minimum Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • 6 years of relevant, professional experience

Basic Requirements 

  • Proven experience in managing communication campaigns across multiple channels
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and platforms (Sprout Social, MailChimp, etc.)
  • Expertise with communications within health care payment policy and/or public health
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and familiarity with AP Style 
  • Ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights
  • Strong organizational and project management skills 
  • Must be willing and able to report to Ripple Headquarters (Rockville, MD) on an as-needed basis
