We are looking for a Technical Services & Development Engineer

Target total compensation ranges from $131,000 - $158,000, including a fixed annual salary of $107,500 - $135,000, an employee equity plan grant, and world-class benefits. 

Equity grants are issued in good faith, subject to company policies, board approval, and individual eligibility.

As a Technical Services & Development Engineer, you will play a hybrid role, splitting your time between resolving support tickets and writing code to enhance mParticle’s platform. You will work closely with Customer Success, Engineering, and Solutions Consulting teams to provide world-class support while also contributing directly to the mParticle codebase.

You will support developer teams as they implement mParticle’s Android, Apple (Apple TV & iOS), and JavaScript SDKs, while also working with our platform’s APIs and key components such as Audiences, IDSync, and Profile API. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting technical issues, fixing bugs, implementing features, and helping improve product stability and performance.

This is a hands-on technical role where your contributions will have a high impact—both in customer-facing interactions and in product development. Your work will be meaningful, directly shaping customer experience, platform reliability, and feature innovation.

About the role: 

  • Contribute to mParticle’s codebase by fixing bugs, implementing feature enhancements, and collaborating closely with Engineering while following best development practices.
  • Write clean, well-documented code and actively participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality solutions and maintain coding standards.
  • Provide exceptional technical support to mParticle customers by troubleshooting and resolving issues related to SDKs, APIs, and platform features, while collaborating with Customer Success and Solutions teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems proactively, escalating to Engineering when necessary and providing detailed information to facilitate efficient resolution.
  • Enhance mParticle products by identifying and reporting bugs, suggesting feature improvements, and documenting customer feedback to drive product innovation.
  • Develop and maintain internal resources, including internal tooling, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Knowledge Base articles, to improve team efficiency and customer support.

About you:

  • 4-year undergraduate degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related technical discipline (Bootcamp graduate, internship, or Co-Op).
  • 2+ years of experience in a software development or 3-4 technical support role where you have written high-quality code.
  • Has familiarity with a strongly typed language (e.g., C# or Java), frontend SPA frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js, or Angular), REST APIs, and SQL-like languages.
  • Has experience with mobile SDKs and APIs.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Is a highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex, multi-faceted issues.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies, quickly grasping the basics and keeping the skills up-to-date.
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.

  • Is able to prioritize work effectively, deal with escalations and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborates, contributes and cooperates with their team and the wider business to drive good outcomes.
  • Has experience writing production-level code in multiple languages.
  • Is knowledgeable about the SDLC.
