Royal Ambulance is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Fleet Service Supervisor to lead the maintenance and servicing of our fleet, ensuring peak performance to support our critical operations. In this role, you will oversee preventive maintenance (PM), repairs, vendor relationships, and parts inventory, ensuring our fleet service team operates efficiently and effectively to keep our vehicles mission-ready. As the Fleet Service Supervisor, you will work closely with various teams, including station operations, scheduling, and third-party vendors, to ensure that vehicles are maintained, repaired, and ready for deployment. You will take charge of the fleet service process from start to finish, ensuring that vehicles meet safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Vendor Management – Schedule repairs, manage vendor relationships, review invoices, and update fleet management software.
- Preventive Maintenance (PM) Scheduling – Track and schedule routine maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring minimal vehicle downtime.
- Vehicle Maintenance Requests (VMR) Management – Track open requests, order parts, schedule technicians, and coordinate with the Operations team.
- Parts Inventory Management – Source, order, receive, and control inventory levels to support maintenance needs.
- Reporting & Documentation – Maintain accurate records of fleet condition audits, service logs, and inventory data.
Qualifications
- Experience in fleet management, vehicle maintenance, or a similar operational role.
- Prior management or supervisory experience, preferably in fleet, logistics, or maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of fleet management software and scheduling tools.
- Ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate costs effectively.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to handle multiple priorities.
- Experience with preventive maintenance schedules and repair workflows.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, including gurney and equipment repair.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and fleet management tools.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to inspect vehicles physically, including climbing, kneeling, and crawling.
- Ability to lift and move equipment, tools, and parts up to 50 lbs, anything over will provide assistance.
- Ability to maneuver and inspect gurneys and other medical equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and work in various weather conditions for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to safely enter, exit, and operate vehicles as needed.
