We are looking for an experienced API QA Engineer with a strong focus on manual API testing. Automation experience is a plus. The ideal candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and analyze production issues effectively. This role requires a proactive, communicative, and well-organized individual who can efficiently manage multiple tasks and ensure high-quality testing outcomes.
What You'll Do:- Perform comprehensive manual API testing to ensure system reliability and accuracy
- Develop, update, and maintain API test cases and test plans
- Perform testing beyond APIs, including UI, integrations, and other relevant areas based on project needs
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define testing strategies
- Investigate and analyze production issues, identifying root causes and collaborating on fixes
- Investigate and report API issues, ensuring timely resolutions
- Analyze API performance and provide recommendations for improvements
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of API testing frameworks
- Manage multiple tasks effectively, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Design and execute automated API tests to improve efficiency (optional)
What You Bring:- 5+ years of experience in API testing (manual & automation is a plus)
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and API testing methodologies
- Proficiency in testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, DevTools, Fiddler/Charles Proxy
- Hands-on experience in API automation using tools like RestAssured, Cypress, or Playwright
- Experience with scripting/programming languages such as Python, JavaScript
- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
- Experience working with logs, debugging tools (DataDog, Sentry), and performance metrics
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)
- Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable to fast-changing environments
Bonus Points (Would be a Plus):- Experience in production support
- Work experience with startups (especially e-Commerce startups)
- Experience with MongoDB & PostgreSQL
- Experience with analyzing and testing data
