Job Description

We are looking for a Sales Engineer in the MidWest region (Chicago, Ohio, Indianapolis, Detroit, Milwaukee, Kansas City, Omaha, or Minneapolis) to join our growing global team at Sectigo.

Our Sales Engineers take ownership as being the technical prime to articulate the technical value and fit for our customers and prospects.  We are looking for a Sales Engineer who possesses exceptional technical, presentation, and communications skills that takes our customers and prospects through the pre-sales stages, which encompasses a technical presentation of our product and service offerings, an assessment and understanding of our customers’ and prospects’ existing IT infrastructure to ensure optimal understanding of potential use cases, and an overall guidance through a proof of concept. 

At Sectigo, our Sales Engineers are the technical bridge and a liaison among various stakeholders, such as our sales team, channel partners, customers, prospects, etc.  

This is a full-time and remote position based in the MidWest region.

Here are the core functions, responsibilities, and expectations for this role: 

  • Assist mid-market and enterprise sales teams with customer management and customer expectations throughout the sales process.   
  • Conduct technical presentations and demos for prospects, channel partners that is tailored to the audience whether they are engineers and/or executives.   
  • Provide Proof of Concept service to customers/prospects, assist clients with planning and implementation of Sectigo solutions.   
  • Provide training to new/existing channel partners along with responding to incoming technical inquiries.   
  • Work in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision.   
  • Assist with sales proposals and RFPs/RFIs.   
  • Contribute to building/improving the SE Readiness Program such as: Develop subject matter expertise in assigned products/solutions; share best practices with the team to enhance quality of service and efficiency; maintain and expand working knowledge of current and future products; and provide product training and mentoring when required.   
  • Willing to travel regionally for customers facing activities, as well as marketing, user group events, and conferences.  
  • Channel feature requests to Product Management to enhance Sectigo products.  
  • Participate in alliance projects including building vendors’ and customers’ relationships.  
  • Additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.    
  • Other duties as assigned and related to the nature of this role and company initiatives. 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering from an accredited college, or equivalent work experience is strongly recommended.  
  • MCP – Microsoft Certified Professional (considered an asset).
  • Linux/Solaris/UNIX System Administration (considered an asset).
  • Azure/GCP/AWS Certification (considered an asset).

Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of industry experience with a minimum of 1-2 within a pre-sales environment is required.  
  • Current or prior Sales Engineering and/or professional services experience is strongly preferred. 
  • Experience working with various Microsoft software and systems, specifically Active Directory, Windows platforms servers and clients. 
  • Experience working with Linux platforms. 
  • Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), SSL, X509 (considered an asset).
  • Experience with webservers & firewall/load balancers software/platforms (considered an asset).
  • Experience with Public Cloud (Azure, GCP, AWS) (considered an asset).
  • Experience with scripting in various languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.) against REST APIs (considered an asset).
  • Ability and availability to travel:
    Must be able to travel more than 35% of the time to the assigned regions and/or territories.  

Ideal Candidate Profiles, Talents, and Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent customer service and account management, and ability to interface with a diverse set of clients including administrators and C-level executives.  
  • Software as a Service (SaaS) technical solutions selling.  
  • Solid multi-tasking, troubleshooting and problem resolution abilities.  
  • Self-starter with a can-do/will-do attitude, quick leaner, willingness to work as part of a team, and a desire to continually learn new tools/technologies.  
  • English language proficiency required.  
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time if required.
