Senior Software Engineer - UI Services and Infrastructure

What are we looking for?

SentinelOne is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for the UI Services and Infra team, a group of engineers who design and build tools and solutions that will give our engineers greater control over internal systems while improving their ability to deliver software sustainably, and quickly. This team will be tackling greenfield projects while working to improve the long-term sustainability of the S1 engineering model. Software Engineers at S1 work in a highly collaborative environment, one size does not fit all so please bring your bag of tricks and ability to teach them to others.

You will get to work in the center of action, helping the UI Platform area oversee all the frontend at S1 and build a fast, reliable security SaaS platform, handling hundreds of billions of cybersecurity events daily across 6 AWS&GCP regions. Your work will impact over 1 million of our users - SOC Analysts, Threat Hunters, Security Administrators, and Incident Responders worldwide who use S1 to effectively triage, investigate, and respond to cyber threats (incl. 4 or Fortune10 companies, hundreds of Global2000 or public/gov sector).

What will you do? 

• Planning and Leading complex technical projects in the area of UI Services and Infra
• Working on systems that allow our engineers to deliver features for SentinelOne safely, quickly, and reliably
• Acting as an expert and enabler for Engineering teams to move Cloud-native model
• Owning key metrics around performance, throughput, and failure rates
• Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and gather feedback to ensure the tools/services meet their requirements and provide an intuitive user experience
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the services/tools, including developer guides, best practices, and API references
• Contribute to shared components used across 20+ teams
• Identify opportunities for enhancing existing services/tools related to the UI Platform and implement solutions to address pain points and improve overall efficiency.
• Ensure applications are fast, responsive, and scalable by optimizing performance and addressing bottlenecks

What skills and knowledge should you bring?

• You have strong SW engineering skills, and love solving large complex problems - you are ready to research, document, troubleshoot, and diagnose problems
• Experience building applications in React and TypeScript, or NextJS
• Experience working with REST APIs and GraphQL
• Understanding of the principles of building reusable UI components
• Passion for building tools that accelerate processes and improve engineering effectiveness; and for leading technical aspects of projects for cross-functional teams

It’s a plus if you have experience with/or you'd gain with us:

• Experience with backend development - Go, Java, Python or NodeJS
• Understanding of programming principles like SOLID, DRY, and various design patterns
• Familiarity with build and development tools (ie, Webpack, Babel, Rollup, ESBuild), code quality tools (ie, ESLint, Prettier) and advanced state management libraries like Recoil
• Experience with monorepos and tools around it (ie, Nx, npm / yarn workspaces, etc).
• Skills in identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks (esp. in web applications), and understanding of browser rendering and optimization techniques
• Understanding of OWASP principles
• PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Helm, Kubernetes; AWS and/or GCP; Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD
