Contract Localisation Project Manager (6 / 12 months)

Our Journey

ShopBack started as a spark of inspiration one night in 2014 when Henry and Joel were brainstorming ideas in Henry’s car. That lightbulb moment — earning Cashback while shopping online — was just the beginning. Fueled by the countless possibilities, the team locked themselves in a hotel room for 24 hours to code the very first prototype. Their mission? To revolutionize shopping by helping advertisers market more cost-effectively, while making every purchase more rewarding for shoppers.

Today, ShopBack is the leading shopping, rewards, and payments platform in Asia-Pacific, empowering 45 million shoppers across 12 markets. With 20,000+ partners and over half a million transactions daily, we’re redefining the way the world shops. As we expand globally, we’re looking for adventurous, driven individuals to help us build The World’s Most Rewarding Way to Shop.

About the role

As the Localisation Project Manager on the Product Design team, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our content is appropriately adapted for diverse international audiences through localisation, enhancing our global reach and impact, and providing the best international user experience.

You’ll manage localisation projects across multiple teams, guaranteeing timely execution and maintaining high-quality standards. You’ll support our market expansion initiatives and serve clear and delightful localised content to our existing markets. You’ll also be responsible for resolving any linguistic bugs the local teams or our users raise.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a strong background and knowledge in project management, a basic understanding of the localisation processes in tech companies, and exceptional cross-functional communication skills. Project-wise, you need to ensure timely delivery, quality standards, and budget compliance. Most importantly, you must be passionate about localisation, understand its value, and how it contributes to the company’s global success.

Your Journey Ahead
  • Project management: Manage all aspects of localisation projects, from resource allocation, check/send/receive projects, to timeline management. Collaborate with Design, Product, Engineering and Legal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of localised content.
  • Quality assurance: Enforce quality standards for localised content, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and cultural relevance across all languages. Collaborate with subject matter experts from the local on-site teams to validate translation.
  • Technology adoption: Leverage tools and technologies, such as computer-assisted translation tools and AI, to further streamline processes, increase efficiency, and achieve cost sustainability. Stay updated on industry trends and recommend innovative solutions to improve workflows.
  • Reporting and analytics: Collect data and prepare reports on localisation performance, project statuses and costs to enable decisions on process and expenditure optimisation.
  • Vendor management: Negotiating contracts, create project briefs, coordinate workflows, and conduct performance reviews. Foster strong relationships to optimise project outcomes and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Advocacy and representation: Advocate for localisation in all aspects of our business and to show that they’re essential to extending our reach and improving the customer experience.

Essentials to Succeed
  • 3+ years experience in translation, localisation and/or project managing-related roles.
  • Experience managing content, translation or other service vendors.
  • A clear understanding of localisation processes, quality assurance practice and the e-commerce, reward and/or fintech industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in diverse cross-functional product teams developing website and mobile app products.
  • Experience using computer-assisted translation tools (CAT) and translation management systems (TMS).
  • Have basic knowledge of using AI supporting localisation.
  • Strong work ethic and effective collaborative teamwork.
  • Advanced proficiency in English, with additional language skills considered a plus.
  • Project management certification is a plus.
