Operations Supervisor - Second Shift

ROLE SUMMARY


Under the direction of the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for leading and directing 2nd shift production and warehouse team members to safely and efficiently meet quality and production standards. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills and the demonstrated ability to motivate and engage team members. Bilingual (Spanish/English) language skills are a must.


General working hours are Monday-Thursday, 2:00pm-12:00am, and may vary based on business needs.

What You'll Do
  • Work inter-departmentally (formally/informally,) to improve communication, teamwork, and functionality between departments
  • Engage in production planning, team organization and delegation
  • Drive productivity within 2nd shift plant operations. Report variances to productivity in a detailed and timely manner
  • Provide support and ensure engagement of all team members
  • Complete all paperwork, including work orders, in an accurate and timely manner
  • Proficiently use company ERP systems
  • Assist in food safety and quality programs
  • Lead the department sanitation and/or post-operational inspections as required
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, company procedures and policies
  • Follow all GMP standards and ensure all employees are in compliance
  • Maintain a presence on the floor minimum 75% of the time
  • Understands and upholds B Corp principles which consider all stakeholder groups: community, customers, environment, governance and workers.
  • All other duties as assigned


Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree preferred, and three to five years of progressively responsible related experience in food manufacturing industry
  • General knowledge of cost-effective manufacturing principles or management; knowledge and experience in planning and supervising operations
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all team members. Bilingual (Spanish/English) language skills are a must
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) experience preferred
  • Energetic, flexible and have ability to work alone and in a team environment


Working Environment
  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Manufacturing - Employee is occasionally exposed to risk of wet work conditions. Employee is exposed to cold temperatures. The employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. Employee is regularly exposed to chemicals during sanitation processes. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally at a high level. The employee is not routinely exposed to weather conditions.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – Personal protective equipment is required depending on the job being performed, including protective eyewear, or face shields, hearing protection, hair and beard nets, uniforms and footwear. Additional equipment is required when working with chemicals, such as rubber gloves and use of chemical proof aprons as appropriate for the job being performed.


$60,000 - $75,000 a year

In addition to the base salary, the following benefits are offered:

- Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of annual bonus
