Technical Sales Engineer

Swift Engineering Inc www.swiftengineering.com is uniquely positioned in the marketplace to provide both Product Development and Manufacturing products and services, specializing in advanced composites. This position will be at the forefront of current and future products and play a major role in the development of products and innovative technologies.

Description: The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for Lead generation and sales while ensuring product requirements are successfully interpreted and realized.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Business Development, Composites Manufacturing and Engineering Services

Salary: $110,000-135,000

Purpose:

Swift Engineering is uniquely positioned in the marketplace to provide both Product Development and Manufacturing products and services, specializing in advanced composites. The Technical Sales Engineer promotes the services of the business by combining their technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate leads and transition to sales prospects.
  • Develop strategies to penetrate emerging markets.
  • Field Requests for Quote, cost for labor and other direct charges to return competitive pricing.
  • Implement capture strategies during pursuit of new business.
  • Interpret customer requirements and negotiate favorable terms and acceptance criteria.
  • Provide technical guidance, support and status updates to customers.
  • Work with Engineering and Design Teams to tailor services to meet customer needs.
  • Participate in market research and attend trade shows and conferences.
  • Prepare forecast and status reports for Leadership Team.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace composites Manufacturing Engineering and Estimation experience.
  • 1-3 years of Project Management experience in an aerospace environment.
  • An Engineering Degree is preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record in reducing waste and improving efficiency through use of Lean MFG tools, Six Sigma, 5S, etc.
  • Hands-on experience in lamination of composite components is preferred.
  • CAD (Solidworks, Catia) preferred.

Computer Skills Required:

Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project

Familiarity with ERP / MRP Systems

Working Conditions:

Primarily in an office and shop environment. Periodic weekend or evening work is expected. Travel is expected.

Must be “US PERSON” per ITAR requirements due to our contracts.
