Symmetrio is actively recruiting for a Field Service Engineer for its client, a leading multi-national medical device company. This customer-facing role involves installing, servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting medical imaging equipment across hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities throughout the Buffalo, NY territory. Specialized training will be provided to ensure technical excellence and outstanding customer support.
While the Field Service Engineer will primarily operate within the Buffalo area, travel across the broader territory may be required to support regional customer needs.
This is a full time role with a salary in the 80-100k range.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair MR and X-ray imaging systems with minimal supervision.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, ensuring optimal system performance and regulatory compliance.
- Respond to emergency service requests with effective, high-quality solutions.
- Train clinical staff and operators on basic system functionality and daily maintenance procedures.
- Maintain detailed and accurate service records, reports, and documentation through company-provided tools.
- Manage and account for all assigned company assets, including service vehicles, inventory, tools, and computers.
- Build strong, positive working relationships with clinical customers and internal service teams.
- Communicate service activity updates and recommendations clearly with both customers and managers.
- Support other Field Engineers and facilities within the region as needed to ensure excellent service coverage.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred. Equivalent military technical training is highly valued.
- 5+ years of experience servicing medical imaging equipment (MR and/or X-ray strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with DICOM, networking basics, RF shielding, and magnet safety procedures is beneficial.
- Strong technical aptitude with electronics, mechanical systems, software, and diagnostic tools.
- Exceptional customer service skills, professionalism, and a proactive attitude.
- Proficiency with computer-based systems for service documentation and communication.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage a flexible schedule, and prioritize service calls.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Buffalo and surrounding areas; occasional travel for training or special projects may be required.
- Ability to work variable shifts, on-call rotations, and occasional weekends as customer needs dictate.
