Symmetrio is recruiting a Manufacturing Project Manager for our customer, a global conglomerate in the medical device space. This candidate plays a crucial role in leading and executing complex manufacturing projects, with a primary focus on orchestrating the seamless transition of new products from engineering to manufacturing. This position requires a strategic mindset to oversee product validation, manufacturing transfer processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidates should either be based in the Melbourne, FL area or open to relocation. The salary for this role ranges from $110,000 to $130,000
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate a minimum portfolio of 3 concurrent manufacturing projects from inception to completion, including all operational and strategic aspects.
- Drive the technical industrialization of new products by analyzing and providing detailed technical feedback to optimize product designs.
- Develop and refine manufacturing requirements and testing protocols for new product introductions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to enhance and optimize manufacturing processes across the supply chain.
- Implement best practices in design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
- Lead cross-functional technical problem-solving teams to analyze and resolve complex manufacturing challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Participate in Design for Excellence (DfX) reviews for sophisticated electro-mechanical products.
- Serve as the primary liaison between contract manufacturing services, sub-suppliers, and engineering teams.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans with clear milestones and deliverables.
- Create and monitor risk assessment matrices and implement mitigation strategies.
- Manage resource allocation plans and requirements across multiple projects.
- Generate regular progress reports and track performance metrics.
- Provide manufacturing expertise and insights during product development phases.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Quality Engineering
- Minimum 5 years' demonstrated experience in manufacturing project management
- Proven track record of successfully transitioning small to medium-sized development projects from engineering to full-scale manufacturing
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Phase Gate Design Process
- Extensive experience with Design for Excellence (DfX) methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Advanced project management skills including risk management, resource allocation, and timeline development
