Responsibilities- Participation in the health and safety programs of Teck to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and healthy every day
- Seeking ways to improve our process by collaborating with the engineering team and operations on new process development, plant process optimization, quality assurance initiatives, day-to-day troubleshooting, evaluation test work and data analysis
- Assisting with the advancement of technology through bench top testing and thermodynamics simulations
- Ensuring a high quality of standards while collecting samples and performing analysis in the processing facility as well as in the lab environment
- Project Management tasks, including organizing, scheduling and controlling the cost, and tracking the status of projects relating to plant modifications, expansions, and maintenance shutdowns
- Report preparation, and formal presentations
- Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business
Qualifications- Working towards an Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Mining, Metallurgical, Minerals Processing, Chemical, or Process Engineering
- Comfortable working in a multi-faceted industrial work environment with a range of engineering, technical and operational personnel
- Willingness to work outdoors and able to operate vehicles at our operations, in various weather conditions and terrain
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
