We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Coordinator to join our dynamic team. Under the direction of the Lead Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing project activities, ensuring that objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames. This position is essential for maintaining project momentum, coordinating personnel, and facilitating effective communication across teams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and have experience with Azure DevOps Boards.

Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the following key duties:

  • Project Management Support: Collaborate with the Lead Project Manager to identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks. This includes developing project timelines and ensuring that all team members are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Coordination of Project Personnel: Actively coordinate and follow up on the activities of project personnel to ensure that the project progresses smoothly. This is a key need for the role, as effective coordination is vital for project success.
  • Monitoring Timelines: Help monitor and manage project timelines, ensuring that all tasks are completed on schedule. This includes tracking progress and identifying any potential delays.
  • Status Reporting: Assist in preparing and reviewing internal and external status reports as needed. This involves gathering data from team members and synthesizing it into clear, concise reports for stakeholders.
  • Facilitation of Scrum Ceremonies: Coordinate and assist with the facilitation of Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Refinement Sessions, and Sprint Planning. This will require strong facilitation skills to ensure that these meetings are productive and focused.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Lead Project Manager as needed, including coordination of project-related activities and documentation.

To be considered for the Project Coordinator position, candidates must possess the following skills:

Must-Have Skills

  • Agile Knowledge: A solid understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, is essential. The candidate should be familiar with Agile principles and practices, and how they apply to project management.
  • Scrum Facilitation: Experience in facilitating Scrum ceremonies is required. The candidate should be able to guide teams through Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, and other Scrum events, ensuring that they are effective and time-efficient.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in project management is necessary. The candidate should have a track record of successfully managing projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Experience Using Azure DevOps Boards: Proficiency in using Azure DevOps Boards is required. This includes:
  • Adding and maintaining Work Items (Epics, Features, User Stories, Tasks)
  • Facilitating Sprint Capacity
  • Trending Burndown
  • Managing Sprint boards
  • Developing simple Queries
  • Using Area Paths
  • Understanding how backlogs are used

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Scrum Master Certification: While not required, a Scrum Master Certification is a plus. This certification demonstrates a deeper understanding of Scrum practices and principles.
  • PMP Certification: A Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is also a plus. This certification indicates a high level of expertise in project management methodologies and practices.
  • Working with Excel Tables and Pivot Tables: Experience with Excel, particularly in working with Tables and Pivot Tables, is beneficial. This skill will aid in data analysis and reporting tasks.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and work effectively within a team environment.
  • Risk Identification and Communication: Ability to identify concern areas and communicate risks effectively to the Lead Project Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Proficient Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is required.

Education and Experience

  • A working knowledge of the software development process, including requirements gathering, analysis/design, development tools/technologies, release/version control, contemporary testing methodologies, and deployment management is required.
  • Experience on Agile projects is essential, with a strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Availability during business hours in the Eastern Time Zone is required, with the potential for some after-hour and weekend assistance.
