As the Director of Brand Strategy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how The Baltimore Banner engages with prospective audiences, driving awareness, consideration, and subscriptions. This is a high-profile, influential position reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and collaborating across the organization to align marketing efforts with critical business goals.

What You’ll Do:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Partner with the Chief Revenue Officer to guide and execute innovative, data-informed marketing campaigns.
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to meet and exceed business objectives.
- Analyze market trends and competitor strategies to inform and refine marketing approaches.
- Creative Vision:
- Collaborate with editorial leadership to oversee the creative direction and ensure brand consistency across all campaigns and materials.
- Inspire and lead an in-house designer to deliver high-quality, impactful creative assets across internal departments.
- Brand Innovation:
- Reimagine and differentiate The Baltimore Banner’s brand in a competitive market.
- Foster and manage strategic partnerships with other brands and merchants to amplify reach and growth.
- Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Track, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives to senior leadership.
- Balance creative strategies with measurable data to optimize campaign performance.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience:
- 8 or more years of marketing experience, ideally within the media or publishing industry.
- A proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and work closely with leadership.
- Expertise in brand development, creative production (TV/PRINT/DIGITAL), and managing multiple agency partners.
- Skills:
- Strong strategic thinker with a balance of creativity and analytical rigor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident in presenting to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and aligning marketing strategies with business goals.
- Skilled negotiator with the ability to influence outcomes and build meaningful partnerships.

What We Offer:
- Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000 plus corporate performance bonus eligibility. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by several factors including experience, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We constantly review all teammate pay to ensure a great compensation package that is fair and equal across the board.
