About the team
In this role you will be joining the Operations Team, reporting to the Director of Operations (Strategic Sourcing). Our Operations team is the heartbeat of our fulfillment process, expertly managing everything from inbound shipments to outbound deliveries, including returns, picking, packing, and shipping. Their precision and dedication ensure every customer receives the perfect fit, on time, so they can feel confident and look their best for life’s most memorable moments. By keeping operations seamless and customer-focused, this team plays a pivotal role in delivering experiences that help our customers own their most special occasions.
About the role
As the Quality Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and creating the quality control and auditing processes that ensure our products meet rigorous standards. You will oversee the inspection, testing, and validation of tuxedos and related formalwear, ensuring accuracy and quality in all warehouse processes. The role will require collaboration with the warehouse operations team, customer service, and other departments to optimize the quality and efficiency of our fulfillment processes.
What you'll doDevelop and Implement Quality Management System:
Design, implement, and maintain quality control protocols for garment inspection (both inbound from suppliers and rental returns from customers), cleaning, repairs, and packaging for internal processes. Ensure all items meet brand standards before shipping to customers.
Oversee Warehouse Audits:
Conduct and lead regular quality audits within the warehouse to monitor adherence to quality control procedures and identify areas for improvement. Analyze audit results and take corrective actions as needed. Develop and implement an audit calendar for compliance with TBT QMS.
Training and Development:
Train warehouse and fulfillment teams on proper quality control procedures, best practices for garment care, and customer service expectations related to product quality. Foster a culture of quality throughout the operations team.
Monitor Inventory Quality:
Work closely with the Inventory Control, Merchandising, Supply Chain teams to track the quality of products within the warehouse. Ensure proper documentation of any damaged or returned items and ensure they are addressed in a timely manner.
Customer Feedback and Issue Resolution:
Analyze customer feedback related to product quality, and work cross-functionally to address quality issues swiftly and effectively. Ensure timely resolutions and communication with customers when necessary.
Process Improvement:
Identify areas where the quality control process can be enhanced to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and improve the customer experience. Develop and implement process improvements in collaboration with the Industrial Engineering Manager And L&D Manager.
Reporting, Documentation, and Presentations:
Maintain accurate records of quality control inspections, audits, and any corrective actions. Provide regular reports to the Operations Director and leadership team on quality metrics, challenges, and improvement initiatives. Present regular reporting to SLT and Executive Team on findings.
Compliance:
Ensure that quality control practices are compliant with industry regulations and work to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in quality assurance for fashion and e-commerce.
You may be a good fit if you have- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience
- 3+ years of experience in quality control, warehouse operations, or supply chain management.
- Prior experience in QC/QA QMS for consumer products, apparel and tailored clothing is a plusPrior experience in a fashion, e-commerce, or garment rental business is a plus.
- Strong understanding of quality control methodologies, quality assurance tools, and auditing processes. Specialized certification in Quality (ASQ, etc)

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar platforms.

- Ability to zoom in on details and zoom out for overall understanding of business objectives and customer experience.

$89,000 - $115,000 a year
The base salary range for this position will be $89,000-$115,000. Compensation may vary based on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and location. The Black Tux defines compensation plans using market data aligned with comparable companies at a similar stage and size as ours.
