An Athletic Program Assistant job is available with The City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department-Youth Sports. The Park & Recreation Department maintains more than 200 parks and public spaces citywide, as well as, providing recreational activities and educational programming that makes Fort Worth a great place to live, work and play. This is a part-time position with up to 19 hours per week with no benefits. A bilingual candidate in English/Spanish is highly desired.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be age 18 or older (age 17, if a high school graduate)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have some experience with playing or coaching organized sports, with at least one sport being Soccer, Basketball and/or Football

The Athletic Program Assistant job responsibilities include:

  • Work primarily with local elementary schools to provide students with after school sports activities.
  • Assist with coordinating and conducting Youth Sports recreational camps and leagues by
  • Working with a team to provide programs
  • Keeping abreast of sports rules and regulations for City-established youth leagues
  • Set up and clean up after sport activities are completed
  • Keeping score and maintaining game records
  • Distributing and collecting all equipment used during games/camps

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting.

Physical Demand

Medium work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up-to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
