Network Design & Implementation:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) Network Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our wireless network infrastructure to ensure reliable and high-speed internet connectivity for our customers. This role requires a deep understanding of wireless technologies, network protocols, and strong problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement wireless network solutions, including point-to-point and point-to-multipoint.
- Plan and execute network expansions, upgrades, and optimizations.
- Conduct site surveys and RF planning to ensure optimal coverage and performance.
Network Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks, firmware updates, and equipment replacements.
- Respond to network outages and provide timely resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
Security & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Customer Support:
- Respond to customer requests including availability and cost of installation of wireless internet service. Provide troubleshooting and technical support.
- Resolve complex technical issues.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in network engineering, specifically in a WISP environment.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, etc.).
- Proficiency in wireless vendors such as Ubiquiti, Cambium, or Tarana.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
- Knowledge of RF planning tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with network security practices and firewall configurations.
- Competent use of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and mapping, network management, and software applications.
- Technical support experience troubleshooting internet services.
- Experience installing access points and cabling.
- Valid Driver’s License
- High School Diploma or GED
Preference may be given to applicants who have the following
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MTCNA, MTCRE, or similar are highly desirable.
- Experience operating power tools, doing basic construction, and installing fixed wireless and fiber internet services.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
