About the role.

We are recruiting an Accounts Assistant to work in the Financial Services Finance team.  The successful candidate will support the month end process, perform balance sheet reconciliations, as well as preparing regulatory reporting and management reporting against budgets & forecasts.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Posting of month-end accounting journals and performing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Responsibility for the accounting for Insurance and Warranties. To include the production of reports to internal and external partners, as well as raising payment requests and chasing cash.
  • Preparation of the Weekly Debt Purchase file to send to Treasury for payment.
  • Preparation of the Weekly Debtor reconciliation, providing insight into key movements week on week.
  • Loading of data to Essbase for the calculation of the Littlewoods Interest journals for posting to the General Ledger.
  • Supporting the preparation and submissions of key FS reports (including reports for the FCA and FLA).

About you.

  • Part Qualified in a recognised Accounting qualification, actively studying to become qualified or a recent Accounting & Finance Graduate.
  • Good accounting skills, with knowledge of double entry book keeping.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to utilise formulae effectively and maintain high presentation standards.
  • Proficient in use of other Microsoft packages such as Word, Powerpoint, Teams and Sharepoint.
  • Experience of Oracle would be beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with people at all levels, from both a finance and non-finance background.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and reliably.
  • Enthusiastic attitude with a desire to improve and ability to use own initiative.
  • Ability to work with external auditors and advisors, understanding their needs and requests and providing clear, concise and accurate information.
