Assistant Project Manager-Commercial Construction

Thomas-Grace Construction is a nationwide General Contractor specializing in retail construction. Although we are based in Stillwater, MN, we partner with National leaders in the retail and hospitality industries with diverse construction programs ranging from ground-ups, new store buildouts, remodels, resets, facilities and tenant buildouts. Due to expected strong growth, we are currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager to add to our Team. This position is based in our Stillwater office and involves significant collaboration with various project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Managers in planning, executing, and closing projects according to deadlines and within budget.
  • Coordinate project schedules, resources, equipment, and information.
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and invoice reconciliation.
  • Help facilitate communication between clients, subcontractors, and team members to ensure project goals are met.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting project reports, assessments, and other documentation as required.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
  • Associates or bachelor's degree in construction management, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction project coordination or management is ideal.
  • Proficiency in project management software (Procore, Microsoft Project, etc.) and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, and safety standards.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project needs.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as required.
